Mary Lou Fulton Chair in Theatre and Media Arts

The Mary Lou Fulton Chair provides a broad range of support for students and faculty in Theatre and Media.  By providing scholarships, faculty professional development support, and other mentored learning opportunities, this chair has made a transforming positive difference for the Theatre and Media Arts department.

For example:

At the recent LDS Film Festival in January, 2006, BYU students and faculty members fared very well.  The quality of these productions is largely the result of new equipment funded by the Mary Lou Fulton Chair in the Theater and Media Arts.  A few projects also received direct donor funding.  Needless to say, without the help of these generously donated funds, these projects probably wouldn't have placed so highly.

The top three awards in the short film competition were all won by films representing BYU.  Chistopher Cutri won first place with "Reconciling Ruby", Anthony Petersen won second place with "Tugboat's Requiem", and Scot Freebain and Margaret Young won thrid place with "Jane Manning James - Your Sister in the Gospel."  Other award winners included Melissa Larson, Mark Hedengren, Ryan Cannon, Derek Pueblo, Scott Zuniga, and Jared Cardon.
