Giving to the College
Current Giving Priorities
Scholarships Throughout the Fine Arts and Communications, students strive to develop their abilities in disciplines that are competitive and demanding. In order to excel, the must focus on their work.
However, many of our students come from large families with moderate incomes and often must support themselves through school--a task that is becoming increasingly difficult.
At the same time, students in many of the arts are not necessarily eligible for the extremely competitive university academic scholarships based purely on college GPA.
Scholarships, especially for students in the arts, are a rewarding way to directly impact a student's life.
Explore these links for some comments from students about how scholarships have blessed their lives.
For example, Rachel Willis, Music, said: “…Let me thank you wholeheartedly for your generosity. It is because of benevolent people like you that so many students of the Brigham Young University School of Music are able to expand our minds, develop our talents, and begin to fulfill our potentials in a spiritually health and nurturing environment … Without you I couldn’t come to BYU to study this art which I have chosen as my life’s ambition."
