Giving to the College
Current Giving Priorities
Current Giving Priorities Gifts to the College of Fine Arts and Communications enable much of the excellence that has resulted in numerous regional, national, and international awards. They also allow us to share our work with people throughout the world. You can read more about these accomplishments in
Because we recognize that donated funds are precious--even sacred--we strive to use them wisely. We also study and consider carefully as we determine the strategic priorities for the college. Then, each of these priorities are approved by BYU's President's Council, and its Board of Trustees, which is headed by the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Please explore the links to the left for more information about each of these priorities.
Here are our current top approved priorities for donated funds:
College Annual Fund, enabling flexibility to take advantage of unforeseen future opportunities as they arise, and to place resources where the need is greatest. Much of this funding is used for mentored student learning.
Department unrestricted funds for Music, Visual Arts, Theatre and Media Arts, and Communications, enabling departments to place resources where the need is greatest.
Internship Support for Communications Students--enabling students to launch careers in leading newspapers.
Scholarships in every academic department, allowing students to focus on their disciplines and develop their abilities in extremely competitive fields.
Two of our priorities primarily benefit BYU as a whole, not just the College of Fine Arts and Communications:
